I believe that women are pulled in many different directions that, when combined, can be overwhelming. There is relentless pressure to reach an unrealistic level of achievement as a mother/caregiver, romantic partner, professional powerhouse and physical beauty — as narrowly defined and reinforced by societal norms.

I work from a feminist perspective to help women increase awareness and challenge expectations around these standards. Together, we will establish boundaries and set goals, so you can become a more authentic, confident and aligned version of yourself.

Sessions with individual patients are 45 minutes long. I create a safe space for women to work through common challenges including:

Moving through times of change is not an easy feat. We are often caught off guard by how challenging transition can feel, and need additional support. I provide space for you to talk about deep feelings and work through self-limiting beliefs — along with the tools required to help manage these difficult times in life. Together, we will navigate these unexpected hurdles and universal times of transition.

There is a wide spectrum of circumstances that can create a post-traumatic response. These include familial and relational, systemic, environmental, and cross generational events. I utilize a specific framework when working with people who have experienced trauma, while providing a sensitive and tailored approach to the unique circumstances of each situation. I seek to help you embrace today and heal from the past. We will talk about the different parts of yourself and work to build a calm and wholly present life.

PSYCHODYNAMIC PSYCHOTHERAPY

Psychodynamic psychotherapy is a modality that seeks to understand unconscious processes and how these automatic ways of processing information impact an individual’s present-day mindset. This involves building an understanding of how one’s past experiences can shape one’s present day life.

Psychodynamic therapy is an intensive treatment that can require sessions 2-3 times per week. Patients are encouraged to share whatever comes to mind in a free and uninhibited way. I provide a safe place for exploration of the full range of emotions and will guide you through the process of uncovering thoughts and patterns that may lie beneath many of the challenges you’re facing today.
