ABOUT ME

I am a licensed as a mental health counselor, serving patients in New York and New Jersey. I am a 2010 graduate of the Manhattan College Mental Health Counseling program. I chose this field to aid in the healing of emotional pain and break cycles of trauma. I am dedicated to helping my clients recover and find wellness in their day-to-day lives.

While I have been a therapist for 14 years, I continue to expand my expertise and skillset and recently completed the five-year Psychoanalytic program at the Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis. This intensive training has allowed me to gain the skills to help my patients understand who they really are and push past internal blockages.

I use several therapeutic techniques including:

Psychodynamic

Relational/Interpersonal

Gestalt

Cognitive Behavioral

Attachment-Based

My style is tailored to meet each individual patient's needs. I also have extensive experience in maternal mental health, toddler and infant mental health, parent-child play therapy, and video feedback analysis. I am a very active and engaged therapist, while being personable and warm. While there may be times when therapy seems challenging, I work to provide a safe and supportive space for growth and am dedicated to helping you achieve personal goals and embrace your authentic self.

EXPERIENCE

Since 2010, I have worked in a variety of settings. I began my career at Chances for Children-NY, where I provided parent-child dyadic therapy with children ages 0-5. I received extensive training and supervision while working with families, often with a history of severe trauma. Later, I became an in-home provider for other evidence-based programs at agencies including Forestdale, Inc. and Volunteers of America. Again, my focus was on parenting and childhood development - all to support healthy, thriving families.

All of these experiences have impacted my current work; I am a firm believer in the theory that early life shapes future functionality. I continue to use this framework as an anchor in my practice and find it extremely useful in discovering and working through obstacles that can impair people’s ability to cope with challenges — and improve the quality of their lives.
