FAQs

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING THE FIRST SESSION?

The first session is an opportunity for us to meet face-to-face. At this time, I will provide a comprehensive assessment, which will take into account your personal history, present-day concerns, and your goals for therapy. I will also share information about my practice and answer any questions you may have about my process. If you’d like to continue working with me, therapy will begin during the following session.

HOW LONG IS EACH SESSION?

Each session is 45 minutes in length.

WHAT WILL IT COST?

Fees will be discussed before our first session. I offer sliding scale rates.

WHAT FORM OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

I can process cash, checks and all major credit cards.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?

I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not accept payment from insurance companies directly. Your plan, however, may reimburse you a portion of your financial investment if you have out-of-network coverage. I provide a monthly superbill with a CPT diagnosis code, the dates of service/fee, and my Tax ID number in order to submit to insurance for reimbursement.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

I require 24 hour notice for any cancellation. 100% of your regular fee will be billed for missed appointments.

WHAT ABOUT CONFIDENTIALITY?

The law protects the relationship between a client and a therapist. Information cannot be disclosed without written permission from the client.

Exceptions to this legal requirement include suspected past or present abuse or neglect of children, adults and elders to be reported to the authorities including child protection and law enforcement, based on information provided by the client or collateral sources. If the therapist has reason to suspect the client is seriously in danger of harming him/herself or has threatened to harm another person.
